The EVA Hello Kitty Shining Star Jet will fly permanently between Singapore and Taipei three days per week, on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays from Jun 21.

SINGAPORE: A new Sanrio-themed jet that could get "paw-sitive" reviews from Hello Kitty fans will be taking off from Changi Airport from Jun 21.
The EVA Hello Kitty Shining Star Jet, unveiled by EVA Air on Monday (Jun 15), will fly permanently between Singapore and Taipei under the flight numbers BR215 and BR216.
Singapore is the first in Southeast Asia to host the Hello Kitty jet.

Said Mr Austin Cheng, president of EVA Air: "Firstly, Singapore is the world-renowned commercial hub, playing a key role in Southeast Asia. Secondly, last year, we had a Hello Kitty jet charter service and we received tremendous, huge, positive feedback from the passengers. That convinced us we should deploy the Kitty jet to Singapore, and that we would have huge success in Singapore."

The flight will operate from Changi Airport three days per week, on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. An extra day, Tuesday, will be added starting Jul 1.
The aircraft livery bears not just the image of Hello Kitty, but Little Twin Stars as well. Inside the plane is kitted out with all things Kitty, My Melody and Kiki and Lala.

More than 100 Sanrio-themed items will be used for the flights, ranging from boarding passes, to baby bottles to toilet paper. Even the meals will bear the likeness of Sanrio's famed cat. A Hello Kitty-themed check-in area will also be available for passengers' use at Taiwan's Taoyuan International Airport.
Prices for the Boeing 777-300ER Sanrio-themed flights are the same for regular flights.
"Product innovation is one of the key pillars to drive sustained growth in the aviation industry. Unique products and offerings like the EVA Air Hello Kitty jet will continue to attract more travellers and boost the vibrancy of the region's aviation sector," said Senior Minister of State for Transport Josephine Teo, who was the Guest-of-Honour.
She added: "It is also very competitive for air hubs and airports. And so everyone involved in the aviation business is constantly thinking of ways to do better, constantly thinking of ways which they can introduce new features that will excite the customers and passengers in order to sustain their ongoing success and to grow.
"So, innovation is a very important feature of any air hub that aims to stay near the top. And so it is for Changi that we welcome all forms of innovation associated with our air hub."
EVA Air has six other Hello Kitty jets flying around the world - from Taiwan to Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, mainland China, Guam, and the United States. Named EVA Hello Kitty Magic, Apple, Global, Happy Music, Speed Puff, and Hand-in-Hand Jets, each of the themed aircraft carries a distinctive design.
Apart from the Hand-in-Hand Jet, EVA Air Hello Kitty Shining Star will be the only other jet that will feature a new cabin interior, including new seats, Wi-Fi and in-flight entertainment system with high definition touch screen monitors.
